So I wish people who dis the SA would do some actual research first. I would not stay with their organization one day if I every saw someone being treated badly but to date I have not. They do not push their beliefs on anyone and don’t even make anyone listen to prayers before they are fed. One of their regular food bank clients is an openly trans person and they are treated just the same as anyone else. I know the dislike of the SA comes from some element of their doctrine re LGBTQ people but the temple where I work has a openly gay man as their volunteer coordinator (paid position). I have seen this group make excellent use of the money that is donated, they are very frugal but help everyone who comes through their doors and we get the poorest of the poor. Bush and Ellen at the Dallas Cowboys stadium, Sunday October, 6, 2019 The unexpected coupling DeGeneres and Bush were seen talking and laughing together was met with some. This atheist has volunteered with the SA in a number of roles, food bank, breakfast program, income tax clinic, Christmas hamper and toys programs. Just curious how much personal experience you have with the Salvation Army.
